Visit from TV Star

Residents at The Ashton Care Home will be treated to a special visit from ex-Crossroads star, Beth Ellis this Friday.

The former actress, turned author, who is also well known for her appearances in TV classics Z Cars and The Tomorrow People, will be visiting us to talk about her new book

Beth will be here to discuss the launch of her memoir called The Choice – Footlights to Faith, where she describes her unforgettable adventures and experiences in Mozambique, the jungles of the Philippines and the Kathmandu valley, with ministry organisation Youth with a Mission

Beth made friends through the YWAM, which has a base at The King’s Lodge on the A5, near Hinckley, and moved to the village of Stoke Golding nearly a decade ago

Tracy Heyes, care home manager at The Ashton, said:  “We are delighted to be able to welcome TV star Beth Ellis to The Ashton. Her story is a fascinating one and our residents are very much looking forward to hearing about all her adventures. It will make for a thoroughly entertaining afternoon for us all.”

Beth said: “I am delighted to come and talk about my memoir at The Ashton Care Home. It will be an afternoon of storytelling – and a few excerpts from The Choice itself, including the chapter from my time in London’s production of The Mousetrap before coming to live locally in Stoke Golding. I’ll also bring along a few signed copies of my book.”

The book costs £7.99 and can be ordered by emailing
