Resident Enjoys Trip Away With Family

At The Ashton, we want to highlight how residents can still do trips out with their families whilst staying at our care home in Hinckley.

One of our residents, Jill Manship went for an overnight stay with her Daughter to the Cotswolds. Jill also spent time with some of her grandchildren and had a wonderful time seeing the beautiful sights, eating good food and catching up with her nearest and dearest.

The weather was sunny but chilly and that didn't stop Jill from wrapping up warm to see the glorious sights that the Cotswolds had to offer.

Jill thoroughly enjoyed her weekend away and looks forward to spending time with her family again soon.

Below is a statement from Jill's Daughter:

"We had a lovely time, driving down and stopping in Moreton on Marsh for coffee and cake, then, on to Bourton on the water, where we explored the model Village and had lunch. We then went on to our hotel, the Swan at Bibury, which was really lovely! A really classic, cosy welcoming country hotel with lovely food and beautiful rooms.

Mum really enjoyed it and said she would have loved to stay another night. On the second day, we walked around the quaint little village of Bibury and then came home via Stow on the Wold where we had lunch. It was a complete success, and we're hoping to repeat the experience again in a few month's time".

We believe it's important for residents to spend time with their loved ones as often as possible. We adopt an open-door policy whereby relatives and friends of residents can visit at any time. If residents would like to spend the day exploring the local area with a loved one, they are more than welcome to do so.
