Residents’ Artwork Gets Exhibited at Nuneaton Heritage Centre

We are proud to announce that our Monet collage for the Arts in Care Homes Day 2022 has been chosen to be exhibited at Nuneaton Heritage Centre, well done to all our residents that have taken part.

The exhibition has been run by Creative Mojo franchises as part of this year's National Day of Arts in Care Homes held on the 24th of September.

There were 3 different projects to choose from and we chose Claude Monet's The Water Lily Pond.

There have been 4 exhibitions running in the Coventry and Warwickshire area with collages from all of the homes that took part in the display. All of the artwork on display will also be going into a National Creative Mojo competition with all of the homes getting a participation certificate.

We also took part in the competition last year and out of 150 entries we took second place which was fantastic for our residents. All of our residents in the home had some involvement in the process from choosing which project we did to placing the finished pieces on the board.

Our budding artists love to get involved in trying different textures by dipping sponges and fluffy pompoms into the paint to create 3D dragonflies. We also knitted some squares in textured wool for the reeds which created a sensory experience for residents.

The Nuneaton Heritage Centre is on the outskirts of Hinckley so was only a short journey away for us to visit and look at our own art creation and some of the other care homes art work.

We loved getting involved in this art project and look forward to doing something similar next year.
